Chaos Has a Name... and It's Viktor
Every friend group has that one person who thrives on chaos. For the North Shore Titans, that person is Viktor.
After reading the first two books, I was so excited to finally get Viktor's story, and E.V. Olsen absolutely delivered. While Unhinged Titan still has the humor and spice I've come to expect from this series, it also dives into some heavier topics, making it the darkest installment so far.
Meet the Couple
Viktor (MMC): Imagine a ball of sunshine with absolutely no impulse control, a sparkly nun mask, and a tendency to stalk the people he cares about. That's Viktor. He's hilarious, bratty, fiercely loyal, and completely unhinged in the best way. Beneath all the chaos, though, is someone with a huge heart who would do absolutely anything to protect the people he loves.
One detail I loved was learning why he's so protective. After a traumatic event involving his twin sister when they were younger, Viktor became obsessed with making sure the people he loves are safe. He even secretly puts tracking devices on his friends, something that apparently runs in the family. It's over-the-top, but somehow it fits his personality perfectly.
Beckett (MMC): The Titans' new assistant coach is the definition of calm, confident, and protective. Beckett is a total Dom-daddy with muscles for days, striking heterochromia, and the sweetest little cat named Mouse, whose mismatched eyes match his own. After escaping a relationship with a dangerous ex, Beckett is simply looking for a fresh start... until Viktor crashes into his life.
What I Loved
The chemistry between these two is immediate.
Their first meeting at a fundraising gala is both awkward and hilarious. Viktor assumes Beckett crashed the event and confidently offers to buy him a drink, only to accidentally insult him instead. It was the perfect introduction because it immediately showed off Viktor's chaotic personality and Beckett's complete lack of patience for his antics.
Things only get more entertaining from there.
When Viktor witnesses another guest crossing a line with Beckett, his protective instincts kick in instantly, reminding everyone that beneath his playful personality is someone you definitely don't want to provoke. That balance between lovable chaos and genuine danger is what makes Viktor such a memorable character.
Once Beckett is introduced as the Titans' new assistant coach, the forbidden romance really begins.
Viktor spends every opportunity flirting, teasing, and pushing Beckett's buttons until those carefully built walls finally begin to crack. Their relationship is full of witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and plenty of "touch him and die" energy once they finally give in to their attraction.
I also loved that Beckett wasn't just another brooding alpha. Yes, he's possessive and protective, but he's also incredibly patient with Viktor's larger-than-life personality. Watching him slowly realize that all of Viktor's chaos hides a deeply caring and vulnerable person made their relationship feel incredibly rewarding.
The story also surprised me with its emotional depth.
Between Viktor's insecurities, the risks that come with their forbidden relationship, and the return of Beckett's dangerous ex, there are several moments that raised the stakes far beyond the romance. I was especially invested once Beckett's past came back to haunt him, adding a layer of suspense that kept the pages turning.
And I have to mention Mouse. Any book that includes an adorable cat automatically earns bonus points from me.
The Verdict
If you're looking for a hockey romance filled with chaotic energy, forbidden love, laugh-out-loud moments, possessive heroes, and plenty of spice, Unhingged Titan is another fantastic addition to the North Shore Titans series.
Viktor completely stole my heart. His over-the-top personality made me laugh constantly, but it was his loyalty and protectiveness that made him one of my favorite characters in the series. While this book explores some darker themes than the first two installments, it still delivers the humor, romance, and heartfelt moments that made me fall in love with this series in the first place.
Happy reading, and remember my fellow spicy book dragons, before starting a book please check the tropes, and always check for trigger warnings. Nobody likes an unfinished book because the tropes aren't your cup of tea or having a bad reading experience because of unexpected trigger warnings.
