It's Finally Werewolf Time!
Alright my fellow spicy book dragons, who's ready for werewolves?
After falling in love with the minotaurs in Morning Glory Milking Farm and the adorable mothman in Sweet Berries, I couldn't wait to see what C.M. Nascosta would do with one of my favorite paranormal creatures. I'm happy to report that Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic absolutely delivered.
Like the rest of the Cambric Creek series, this book perfectly blends heartfelt romance, cozy small-town charm, laugh-out-loud humor, and some seriously spicy moments. Every new installment expands this wonderful monster-filled world while introducing readers to another unforgettable couple.
Meet the Couple
Moriah (FMC): A recently divorced interior designer who's independent, witty, and determined to rebuild her life after years of heartbreak. Although she's finally free to chase her dream of traveling the world, she can't ignore the one dream she's wanted even more: becoming a mother.
Lowell (MMC): A traveling photographer and the lovable black sheep of one of Cambric Creek's founding werewolf families. Lowell is equal parts sunshine and anxious overthinker, making him one of the sweetest cinnamon roll heroes in the series.
What I Loved
One thing I've come to expect from C.M. Nascosta is that every book has a completely unique premise... and somehow makes it feel surprisingly believable. The Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic is certainly no exception.
Designed to help couples facing reproductive incompatibility, the clinic offers a unique fertility program that pairs women with werewolf donors in hopes of helping them achieve their dream of becoming parents. It sounds outrageous on paper, but the emotional foundation behind the story makes the entire concept work.
At its core, this isn't really a story about a breeding clinic. It's a story about second chances.
Moriah has spent years trying to build the family she always wanted, only to watch that dream fall apart after her marriage ends. Watching her slowly rediscover hope was incredibly rewarding, and I appreciated that the story gave equal attention to her emotional healing as it did the romance.
Then there's Lowell. I absolutely adored him.
He's awkward, self-deprecating, endlessly kind, and constantly worries that he's somehow inconveniencing everyone around him. After being furloughed from his photography job and moving back to Cambric Creek, he feels like he's drifting through life without much direction. Becoming a donor at the clinic starts as a way to earn some money, but what he really finds is someone who sees just how wonderful he is.
The chemistry between Moriah and Lowell develops naturally from the moment they decide to meet before the procedure. Their coffee dates, easy conversations, and growing friendship made their romance feel genuine instead of rushed.
One of my favorite things about this relationship is how much they genuinely enjoy spending time together. They laugh, tease each other, and slowly build a foundation of trust before fully giving in to their feelings.
Of course, this is still a Cambric Creek novel. The spice is plentiful, creative, and exactly what fans of the series have come to expect. C.M. Nascosta continues to write intimate scenes that are both incredibly hot and surprisingly character-driven, making them feel like a natural extension of the romance instead of existing purely for shock value.
The humor also deserves a special mention. Between awkward misunderstandings, Lowell's lovable personality, and one particularly memorable incident involving a very questionable bite and an unfortunate photo, I found myself laughing just as often as I was swooning.
The Verdict
If you're looking for a cozy monster romance with a lovable cinnamon roll werewolf, an emotionally mature heroine, plenty of heart, and enough spice to keep your Kindle smoking, Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic is another fantastic addition to the Cambric Creek series.
I loved watching Moriah and Lowell find happiness together, and once again C.M. Nascosta proved that no matter how unconventional the premise may sound, she can turn it into a romance that's funny, heartfelt, and impossible to put down.
