The second installment in the Six-Pack series follows future Alpha Theo as he unexpectedly finds his fated mate in Brooke, the shy genius from the Security Squad's IT division. Nerds, Wolves, and One Very Cocky Alpha

Alright my fellow spicy book dragons, and especially my werewolf lovers... If you enjoyed Alpha Gray, then you're definitely going to want to keep reading because Alpha Theo gives us another adorable couple while continuing the overarching battle against the Shadow Pack.

One thing I really enjoy about this series is that every romance reaches a satisfying happily ever after, while the larger storyline keeps building from book to book. It makes each installment feel complete, but still leaves you excited for what's coming next.

Meet the Couple

Brooke (FMC): Geeky, brilliant, thoughtful, and incredibly shy, Brooke works in the Security Squad's IT division. She's cautious, level-headed, and struggles with trusting her own wolf after a traumatic event in her past. Watching her slowly grow in confidence was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Theo (MMC): The future Alpha of the Summervale Pack is cocky, tattooed, rides a motorcycle, and has a reputation for avoiding responsibility whenever life gets difficult. Underneath all the swagger, though, is someone still carrying guilt from his mother's death while trying to prove he's worthy of leading his pack.

What I Loved

One of my favorite parts of this book is that Theo isn't immediately the perfect Alpha.

He has growing up to do. He's impulsive, immature at times, and has a bad habit of running away when situations become emotionally difficult. That made his character development feel much more rewarding because he actually has to earn Brooke's trust instead of simply expecting it.

Brooke doesn't fall for his charm overnight. He has to prove himself. I appreciated that a lot.

The Banter Was Fantastic

Theo's time working as the temporary liaison for the IT department gave us some of the funniest moments in the book. Every time he walked into the office with his signature greeting... "Sup Nerds." I couldn't help but laugh.

And don't even get me started on him calling debugging "debunking." Those little running jokes added so much personality and made the relationship feel playful instead of overly serious.

Watching Brooke go from thinking Theo was a complete "Alpha-hole" to slowly seeing the man underneath all that confidence made their romance incredibly satisfying.

More Than a Romance

While the romance takes center stage, I also enjoyed seeing more of the larger conflict with the Shadow Pack. Each book continues adding another piece to the puzzle, making the world feel bigger while keeping the action moving forward.

I also loved learning more about Brooke and Theo's pasts. Both characters are carrying emotional scars that have shaped who they are, and watching them help each other heal made their relationship feel genuine rather than being built solely around the fated mates trope.

Theo and Brooke balance each other perfectly. His confidence pushes Brooke outside her comfort zone, while Brooke helps Theo become the leader he's always had the potential to be. Their playful banter, heartfelt romance, and emotional growth make them a couple that's incredibly easy to root for.

Add in the continuing mystery surrounding the Shadow Pack, plenty of laughs, and some wonderfully steamy romance, and you've got another book that keeps this series getting better and better.

The Dates Were Adorable

Once Theo finally gets his chance, he really puts in the effort. The night hikes, ski lodge getaway, and the special place he shared from his childhood were all incredibly sweet moments that balanced out the action and spice perfectly.

And yes... Fallon punching Theo in the junk after hurting Brooke had me laughing far harder than it probably should have.

The Spice

The chemistry between Brooke and Theo grows naturally throughout the story, making the intimate moments feel like the payoff to everything they've worked through together.

As expected from C.J. Primer, the romance brings plenty of steam while never losing sight of the emotional connection between the characters.

The Verdict

Highly Recommended For: Fans of wolf shifter romance, fated mates, Alpha heroes, witty banter, emotional character growth, and interconnected paranormal romance series.

Alpha Theo is another strong addition to the Six-Pack series. I was already excited for Alpha Jax before finishing this one, but that teaser at the end had me ready to dive straight into the next book.

Happy reading, and remember my fellow spicy book dragons, before starting a book please check the tropes, and always check for trigger warnings. Nobody likes an unfinished book because the tropes aren't your cup of tea or having a bad reading experience because of unexpected trigger warnings.
